Morning:
- Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you will be greeted by your guide.
- Drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan (approx. 1.5 hours).
Afternoon:
- Visit the Tashichho Dzong, a beautiful fortress and monastery which houses the throne room of His Majesty the King of Bhutan.
- Explore the National Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory of the third King, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
Evening:
- Stroll through Thimphu's bustling market streets and take in the local culture.
Morning:
- Visit the Buddha Dordenma Statue, one of the largest Buddha statues in the world, offering panoramic views of the Thimphu valley.
- Explore the Folk Heritage Museum to get a glimpse of traditional Bhutanese rural life.
Afternoon:
- Tour the National Institute for Zorig Chusum (Arts and Crafts School), where students learn the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan.
- Visit the Takin Preserve, home to the national animal of Bhutan, the takin.
Evening:
- Relax and enjoy a traditional Bhutanese dinner.
Morning:
- Drive to Punakha (approx. 2.5 hours) via the Dochula Pass (3,100 meters), where you can see the 108 chortens and enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas.
Afternoon:
- Visit the Punakha Dzong, arguably the most beautiful dzong in Bhutan, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.
- Explore the Suspension Bridge, one of the longest bridges in Bhutan, offering spectacular views of the river and valley.
Evening:
- Check into your hotel and enjoy the serene surroundings of Punakha.
Morning:
- Drive back to Paro (approx. 4 hours).
Afternoon:
- Visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in the Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower.
- Explore the Paro Rinpung Dzong, a stunning example of Bhutanese architecture and artistry.
Evening:
- Take a leisurely walk around Paro town, visiting local shops and cafes.
Morning:
- Hike to the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched on the edge of a steep cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley. This iconic monastery is one of Bhutan’s most sacred sites.
Afternoon:
- Descend and visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan.
Evening:
- Return to your hotel in Paro and relax after a fulfilling day.
Morning:
- After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
