Morning and Afternoon
You will meet our team carrying your name placard at the Airport Gate who will drive you to a comfortable hotel in Paro for check in and freshening up. If time permits you will visit a historic monument of 1944, Rinpung dzong (fortress) and its watchtower Ta Dzong, now one of few national museums in Bhutan standing on a hilltop overseeing the Paro valley.
Alternatively, you can visit local areas in Paro and familiarize yourself with the way of living in Bhutan.
Evening
You will have dinner in one of the hotels or local restaurants if preferred and then settle for the night in hotel in Paro.
Morning
After breakfast, drive to Sang Choekor: being your journey with a short drive from Paro to Sang Choekor Buddhist College (also known as Sang Choekor Goemba), which is the starting point of the trek.
Start Trekking: The Trek begins with a steady uphill climb through rhododendron and pine forests. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of the Paro valley and the distant Himalayan peaks.
Lunch Stop: take a break for a packed lunch at a scenic spot along the trail.
Afternoon: Continue trekking: after lunch, continue trekking uphill. The trail eventually opens up to high alpine meadows adorned with prayer flags.
Arrival at Bumdra Monastery: Arrive at the Bumdra High Camp, located near the Bumdra Monastery (“Cave of a Thousand Prayers”). The monastery is situated at an elevation of about 3,800 meters (12,467 feet) and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Explore and Relax: Spend the afternoon exploring the monastery and its surroundings. Enjoy the tranquility and the breathtaking vistas.
Evening: Dinner and Campfire: Enjoy a hot dinner prepared by your trekking crew. If weather permits, gather around a campfire and share stories under the stars.
Overnight: Camp at Bumdra High Camp.
Morning:
Breakfast: Have a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the day’s trek.
Begin Descent: start your descent towards Paro. The trail initially leads downhill through beautiful forests and meadows.
Mid-Morning: Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest): The highlight of the descent is reaching Taktsang Monastery, famously known as Tiger’s Nest. Perched on a cliffside, this iconic monastery is one of Bhutan’s most revered pilgrimage sites. Spend time exploring the monastery and soaking in the spiritual ambiance.
Afternoon: Continue Descent to Paro: after visiting Tiger’s Nest, continue your descent to the base of the mountain. The trek down is relatively steep but well worth the effort.
Lunch: Enjoy a packed lunch or a meal at a local cafeteria near the base of Tiger’s Nest.
Late afternoon: Drive back to Paro. Once you reach the base, your transport will be waiting to drive you back to your hotel in Paro.
Evening: Relax and refresh after checking into your hotel, take some time to relax and refresh after the trek.
After breakfast, the team will drive you to Paro International Airport calculating the time for your departure flight. The team will bid you farewell and wish you safe journey for your next chapter in life.
